The Business Adapter is fully bi-directional. It includes an Event Adapter component that allows automatic capture of events in SAP and routing and posting of event data in the listener system and applications. The event adapter includes a built-in RFC Server and has support for SAP ALE event generator layer. A XML based Event API set is available in EBA to communicate with the event adapter layer.

EBA provides complete access to SAP processes and object meta-data via a meta-data repository layer. A GUI based Repository Browser tool provides easy access to complete SAP meta-data. A XML based meta-data API layer provides programmatic access to the meta-data.

EBA includes a Web Services Framework to allow deployment of all adapter services as Web Services, thus providing easy integration with any technology platform and application system via TCP/IP and SOAP protocols.

EBA has a very easy to use, browser based GUI based management console to facilitate the development, deployment and running of integration applications.

EBA includes a Rapid Application Development (RAD) toolkit, that provides on the fly generation of integration code that can be plugged into the middleware application.

EBA provides extensive logging and monitoring features to simplify the troubleshooting and debugging process of the integration applications.
